CBD vs. THC, Hemp vs. Marijuana
So you’ve been doing some digging around, and came across a lot of terms. CBD, THC, hemp, and marijuana; and you’re wondering, what’s the difference? Let’s compare.
Hemp is one of the classifications of the cannabis plant. Hemp is a term used to clarify the variety of cannabis that contains 0.3% or less of THC by dry weight.
Marijuana is also one of the classifications of the cannabis plant. Marijuana, however, contains more than 0.3% THC by dry weight.
CBD, or cannabinoid, is a component found in high amounts in both marijuana and hemp classifications of the cannabis plant. CBD is believed to have tons of healing and relaxing effects, all the while not causing unwanted highs and addiction, therefore being legal in Hong Kong.
THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is a component found in both hemp and marijuana. THC is psychoactive, which causes a “high”. Products containing THC are illegal in Hong Kong.
